Happy New Year! Just hours from 2012

Wishing You and Yours a wonderful New Year's Eve, filled with safe celebration of the turn of the year. I have temporarily left the path of dyeing and hooking, because of a failing left hip.  I'm hoping to return to my adventure with my TX Palette extended colors after recuperation from my hip replacement. At the present time, it isn't yet scheduled.

2011 was a year of changes for me. Most notably in the direction this blog probably best shows. I will try to refrain from political discourse in the next year. However, even if my posts offended people, they were an exercise of my American Right to Freedom of Speech.

While I was a growing up girl, both my mother and Grandmother discouraged me from speaking my mind. As a Grandmother, I can understand this, for we want our children and grandchildren to sail through life with happiness, abounding friendships, and good manners. As they both put it, "A lady doesn't discuss politics, religion, or sex." I've broken their pronouncement many times in my personal life, and after the fact pondered on the wisdom of their rule. However, I shall try to remember it in the New Year.

Currently, I'm working on a Karen Kahle rug, called "Sweet Bower" It was intended to be a Christmas gift for my dh, but as many creative people do, especially those of us with Adult ADD, my focus has lately shifted to counted cross stitch. So much easier to carry a project somewhere. I'm starting to think about hooking again, as I am less and less out of my chair.

Happy New Year. It may be awhile until I post again, Wishing you and myself a healthier New Year, and hope you vote in the upcoming November election, using information you can rely on. Tricky in these times, but it always has been. Follow your heart and brain, choose your Congressmen/women well and vote for the Presidential Candidate that best represents your vision for America. After listening to all the speeches and thinking about what their carefully worded speeches really mean, cast your vote, it is not only your right but your responsibility.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot....

Happy 2012 to you my dear Jo,
Don't change who you are, speak what you want, in doing so you have caused me to think through issues I might not have thought about. One of the dangers I see on our horizon is that we as a nation are starting to mirror the Germans before Hitler. We attack people who have different opinions and ridicule rather than seeing that every person deserves their own opinion.
I am very opinionated and our mothers and grandmothers must have been friends. They said the same thing to me.
You have so much to teach and I have so much to learn.
I have been thankful for our friendship and the gift of knowing you.
Yes, I too have a worn out hip so I know how it hurt.
I hope you can get it fixed.
I just wish you blessings for 2012
As always your friend,
Kim

Thank you, Kim!

The convergence I think is more due to the computers that take away much personal freedom, while providing us with connection to loved ones near and far. Even loved ones, like you, that we may never meet close enough more than a virtual hug. [(YOU)]

Wishing you and your family a very blessed and healthy New Year.

Thanks again, for letting me know that not all my stand up and speak my mind offended. Truth be told, I can only keep my thoughts to myself for so long. Our country was made strong through respectful and sometimes not so respectful discourse.

The thing that worries me most is the pepper spraying of peaceful demonstration. Right now I'm reminded more of the time before Kent State at the time of the Vietnam War. We made it through that time, and with God's help, we make it through this time as well. Jo

Jaja, I hope you know I wish the very best for you as well.

Both of us need a healthier New Year! Your friendship has been the most steadfast and loving of many I've made online. Others may talk, you also walk... :)

Happy New Year! Jo

Dear Jo,
I just wanted you to know the incident I was referring to was a woman giving child raising tips to young mothers that included words like, " finding the child's vulnerable places and exploiting them." Taking a lap top from her daughter that the daughter worked for and saved her money for two years and the mother bragged that she took it away gave it to someone else. Her son had built models for years and she took them and burned them up,
I told her the way I raised my teenagers and she called me a liar and on and on.
So that is why, I thought now in hind sight I should have not said anything because I couldn't sleep for two night.
I said what I did because I didn't want young mothers that read her to think that was normal behavior.
So I went out on a limb and I have paid for it, the good thing though for the last few days she had been all over my blog.
You can delete this if you want.
I just wanted you to know I never would delete anything from you and you always give me such gifts I hold to my heart.
You have wisdom I need and yes, while I was a kid when Kent State happened, I still remember it. I remember being afraid. I feel that way sometimes now when I see things in the media but somehow this seems different. I don't know why.
Thanks for coming by Jo, You are always a blessing and have one of the best play lists in the world.

Kim, I hope you won't mind my sharing this, if you do, come on by and delete it.

This woman is clearly mentally ill, or in the hands of the devil. To do things like that crush a child's spirit. I don't care if I sound medieval in the second possibility.

She was either damaged by her own parents beyond repair, or doesn't understand the ultimate consequences of her actions.

I'd probably have spoken to her from my teacher platform, mother and grandmother plan. I hope someone in the lives of those kids has had the grit to report her to the Child Protective Agency in her state.

I'll pray for your peace of mind, your generous heart has gotten ensnared by someone evil. Cut the ropes and go forward into the new year KNOWING you did the right thing! Loving you Jo
